Nomination Guidelines

1. Students must be nominated by their band director or music teacher. Parents must be informed and you need to have their permission to submit the nomination.

2. The nominating teacher must be a member of Sax on The Web or a friend/associate of a Sax on The Web member. If nominated by a non-member of the forum, a Sax On the Web member can vouch for the individual making the nomination, or a letter from their building administrator will be required.

The intent of this rule is to have a connection to the nominee. We want to make certain as much as possible that the idea of the Spirit of Nomination is being followed

3. No family of a Sax On The Web member or donating merchant is eligible for consideration.

4. If the recipient is too far away from Chris Hutter, the individual who nominates a student must be willing to take the saxophone to a technician for a tune up if needed, and to arrange the delivery of the sax to the student. If at all possible please provide an image of the student with their new saxophone. The sax will be delivered to your home.

5. The Sax O Thon administrator will review nominations and make a decision as to who receives the available saxophones.

6. Sax O Thon will request that if the recipient does not continue playing their instrument that they donate it to their school's music program. (enforcement of this rule is almost impossible but is consistent with the spirit of giving)

7. Nomination only guarantees consideration. All decisions are final

The Spirit of Nomination : The goal of Sax-O-Thon is to provide a musical instrument to a student who shows musical promise and whose family would be hard pressed to   provide a quality saxophone for  their child. It is impossible for us to verify the needs and talent of nominated individuals so we are asking our members to be extra careful with   their considerations as to who to they nominate.
